12 scriptures when you are unsure God wants to use you

Previously: not a respecter of persons

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.God loves everyone, wants everyone, will speak to everyone, and will use everyone, without prejudice … who likewise loves Him, wants Him, speaks to Him, and walks with Him. It hinges on us, not Him. He is looking for the man … any man or woman … whose heart is turned toward Him.

For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe. Deu 10:17

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Sam 16:7

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. 2 Chr 16:9

Yet He is not partial to princes,
Nor does He regard the rich more than the poor;
For they are all the work of His hands. Job 34:19

Behold, God is mighty, but despises no one;
He is mighty in strength of understanding. Job 36:5

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered. Joel 2:32

“Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.” Luk 6:47-48

Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.” Act 10:34-35

For there is no partiality with God. Rom 2:11

“But from those who seemed to be something—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man—for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me.” Gal 2:6

And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him. Eph 6:9

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Jam 3:17

not a respecter of persons

Then Peter opened his mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation, whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him."I was praying for my children today to increase in their discernment and hearing the voice of the Lord. When I was young, and new to hearing the Lord speak to me, and knowing it was Him speaking (LOL) I remember that fear that said “God isn’t interested in speaking to me. I can’t possibly hear His voice; that is for great and important people.” I learned from the Scripture NOT to fear. It simply isn’t true, first of all, because God shows no partiality to great and important people. His definition of who is great and important is often (always?) not the same as ours anyway.

overcome evil with good

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.I am not sure why it has taken me so many years to learn this … but I am finally learning that the best way to overcome obstacles, offenses, and setbacks in my life, is to do the very opposite. Is someone bad mouthing me? Good mouth them back. ♥ Is my husband fighting with me? Don’t get drawn in (this is the hardest application of all) but instead, seek for peace and pursue it. ♥ Act on that which calms instead of that react to that which escalates. I need constant help with this! Did someone just speak a negative prophecy over my family, children, or grandchildren? Counter it by speaking an edifying and positive promise over them instead. Is my mind or heart racing with worries or fears? Speak my trust and hope in God. Am I telling myself what I can’t do? Stop it! Start telling myself what I can do through Christ who strengthens me! Overcome every evil thing with good! ♥

the power of an evil report

Now the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation complain against him by bringing a bad report of the land, those very men who brought the evil report about the land, died by the plague before the Lord.I was preparing my Bible study notes for the Torah portion which will be read this Sabbath, which is in Numbers, when I realized it was a perfect illustration of the importance and significance of what I have been hearing from the Lord. The history is in Num 13-14. Israel is camped on the edge of the Promised Land, and Moses sends in 12 spies to spy out the land and bring back a report to the congregation. Ten of the spies give an evil report, with only two giving a good report agreeing with what the Lord had said about it.

Because of listening to the evil report and not the good, the congregation experienced a 40- year delay in entering into their Promise. This is not a minor reminder the Lord is reminding me of. There is power for evil in listening to an evil report, just as there is power for good in listening to a good report. Help me to do the latter Father! ♥

the good report

The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and a good report makes the bones healthy.The news media sells papers and attracts viewers by reporting the evil report. The death toll for the horrible tornadoes that swept Oklahoma was originally reported at 91. But the next day, the death toll had gone down to 24 – still horrific, don’t get me wrong. But much better than was originally said.

I have had so many examples lately, also, of friends and family being given dire news of various kinds, only to have the outcome actually be far better. The enemy, when he accuses our brothers in our minds, excels in painting the worst possible light rather than the best. God has been speaking to me through this: believe the good report, and not the bad one. The good report is most often the true report, which is why we are told to think on whatever is true and of good report (Phi 4:8). Don’t listen to fear or negative prophecies – it will be health for your bones.
